The medieval city of Novo Brdo is a city of silver and gold

The medieval city of Novo Brdo, "in truth, a city of silver and gold", as described by Constantine the Philosopher, was established in the 14th century and became the center of economy and trade. In addition to the Serbs, it was inhabited by Saxons, the Ragusans and the Arvanites.

The ore and the presence of many merchants influenced the development of the Serbian state and everyday life of common citizens, but also marked the positioning of Serbia in Europe.
