Monasteries Davidovica and Kumanica corroborate the unwritten rule that our medieval monasteries are situated at the most beautiful, healthy, often hidden places with springs of clear clean water - quiet and tranquil places.

 

Davidovica monastery dating back to the thirteenth century is tucked away on the southern slopes of Jadovnik, by the river Povijusa. It is the parish priest Dmitar, the youngest son of Prince Vukan Nemanjić, who took the monastic name of David. Monastery was named after him. Church of the Holy Archangel Gabriel, popularly known as Kumanica monastery is from the XIV century. It was restored by the end of year 2000. It is located on the road from Prijepolje to Bijelo Polje, at the entrance to the Lim ravine.
